Ancestry.com updated my Ethnicity Estimates. Previously, I had very little, if any Scottish ethnicity. Now it’s up to 24% (see below). Big shout out to all you relatives taking the AncestryDNA test.
England & Northwestern Europe (39%) includes England, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and northern France.
Scotland (24%) also includes northeastern Northern Ireland.
Ireland (19%), primarily the whole of Ireland.
Germanic Europe (13%) includes most of German, parts of The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Czechia.
In the U.S., I would be dubbed a “Heinz 57” for 57 varieties, give or take. Truly, it means I’m a blue-eyed Hillbilly of European descent.
No surprise there.
